Michela Masotti graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts in May 2019 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Drama. Michela studied at the musical theater studio, the New Studio on Broadway, and at the film studio, Stonestreet Studios. She extensively studied classic and contemporary styles of voice, the Meisner technique of acting, vocal performance, and film acting and production. She has over eight years of training in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, and ballroom dancing.
In addition to working on traditional Broadway classics, including her favorite roles as Wendla in “Spring Awakening” and the Housewife in “Working”, Michela has a lot of experience performing in new musical productions and workshops, such as “Medusa the Musical” (Eritha) and “Samson the Musical” (Kitra).
Since graduating, Michela has been performing in the Off-Broadway Production of “Wicked City Blues”. She has also performed in the “Underscore Cabaret” and “Broadway in Love” at the Triad Theater. Additionally, Michela was in a reading of a new play, “It’s Hard to Be Holy”, and played a leading role in the feature film, “Let’s Take a Vote”.
Michela received the “Best Artist of the Year” Award in 2015 from National Youth Artists.
Michela is passionate about politics and environmentalism, as well. Michela is currently in the Master’s in Nonprofit Management program at Columbia University. She has experience working at the Broadway Green Artist Alliance, a non-profit organization that collaborates with the entire Broadway community to promote sustainability and environmentally sound practices on Broadway, and Theatreworks, USA, which brings transformative theatrical experiences to families throughout North America. She also has experience working on campaigns, including Hillary for America in 2016.
